This double LP set is ensconced in a thick tip-on gatefold jacket splashed with a colorful spread of vivid archival imagery accumulated over a decade of research into the Columbus, Ohio culture. The liner notes serve as an in-depth history of Columbus soul music, linking The Capsoul Label with The Prix Label and Norman Whiteside's Wee project (as sampled by Kanye West). The CD version boasts all of the same, with a few extra photos. A strong addition to the already epic Eccentric Soul series from The Numero Group.
