OLDTIME STRINGBAND, THE

Oorspronkelijk werd The Old Time Stringband gevormd als muzikale begeleidingsband voor een documentaire over Ruud Spil, bekend van zijn portretten van koeien. Spil is in deze band zanger en banjospeler en we komen nog een bekende tegen: Ton Knol, de vader van Tim, hij speelt gitaar. Het project beviel zo goed dat de band is blijven bestaan en regelmatig op ging treden. Chicken Crows For a Day is de eerste plaat van de band en bevat natuurlijk bluegrass en andere stokoude Amerikaanse roots. ​





The Oldtime String band was originally formed as a musical backdrop to a documentary about the cow-painter, Ruud Spil. Both the musicians and the audience enjoyed it so much that the band is now on a stampede.

The Oldtime Stringband not only plays Bluegrass and Old-Time music but is also inspired by American folk music from the 1940’s and modern music with an Old-Time feel.
