In de vorige Mania werd al treffend beschreven hoe Joe Cocker in 1970 onder de bezielende leiding van Leon Russell en diens kompanen toerde door de Verenigde Staten als Mad Dogs & Englishmen. Het werd op film vastgelegd en deze film is kort geleden op DVD verschenen. En er is nu ook een Deluxe Editie op dubbel cd verkrijgbaar. Deze wederom prachtig uitgevoerde uitgave laat Cocker in zijn hoogtijdagen horen en dat Russell muzikaal zijn mannetje staat mag bekend worden geacht. Viel op de DVD op door het hoge hippie gehalte dat in deze dagen bon ton was, de dubbel-cd registreert vooral het opwindende muzikale deel. Want het is niet mis wat hier gebracht wordt: een wilde show waarin Cockers zangtalent gekoppeld wordt aan een uitbundige band met koor. Acht niet eerder uitgebrachte live songs werden toegevoegd waaronder het overbekende With A Little Help From My Friends. In de bonus ook nog eens 4 zeldzame studio opnames van o.a. The Letter en Space Captain.
