With their 2002 Island Records album, ‘Angels With Dirty Faces’, Sugababes proved they were a major force to be reckoned with. Not only did the new offering deliver two UK Number 1 singles – ‘Freak Like Me’ and ‘Round Round’ – it also unleashed the startling title track plus the classics ‘Stronger’ and the Sting-sampling ‘Shape’. Produced and co-written, variously, by the hottest production teams at the time, including Richard X, Xenomania, and Lucas Secon, the album was a masterclass in cutting-edge electronica sounds married to perfect pop sensibilities. The album went straight in the UK Albums chart at No. 2, held off the top only by Coldplay’s ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’.
