Toen de Small Faces, de band van de goedgekapte, mod-kwajongens van frontmannen Ronnie Lane en Steve Marriott uit elkaar viel, ging Marriott in 1969 door met Humble Pie, een onverwachte samenwerking met ‘mooie jongen’ Peter Frampton. Na de eerste album voor A&M (Humble Pie) verschuift de verhouding akoestisch (Frampton) steeds meer richting stevige/zware rock (Marriott). Mede daardoor verliet Frampton Humble Pie in 1971 en ging zijn zeer succesvolle solocarrière van start. De box geeft een fraai beeld van de ontwikkeling van de band. Probeer, om het beeld nog completer te maken, wel nog even het album Town And Country uit 1969 (Immediate/Charly) aan te schaffen.
