‘Last And First Men’, een audiovisueel werk dat volledig is ontstaan in de verbeelding van Jóhann Jóhannsson. Het werk is gebaseerd op de cult sciencefictionroman van Olaf Stapledon en de grote IJslandse componist combineert op een wonderlijke manier zijn muziek met film, aangevuld met een verhaal van de met een Oscar bekroonde actrice Tilda Swinton. Jóhann Jóhannsson werkte bij zijn overlijden in 2018 nog aan dit project. Het werd voltooid door zijn naaste medewerkers: componist Yair Elazar Glotman en regisseur Sturla Brandth Grøvlen.
