Twee albums op een cd van de eigenzinnige Texaanse singer-songwriter in de rerelease. Op Smokin' The Dummy uit 1980 vinden we zulke juweeltjes als Whatever Happened To Jesus (and Maybellene) en Feelin' Easy. Bloodlines uit 1983 doet daar niet voor onder met Gimme A Ride To Heaven Boy en There Oughta Be A Law Against Sunny Southern California. Natuurlijk wordt hij op beide albums bijgestaan door vaste maatjes als The Maines Brothers, Jesse Taylor, Richard Bowden, Joe Ely en Ponty Bone.
