This will be the Raphaël Ripperton's second full-length, following 2010's Niwa. As with that record, A Little Part Of Shade will come out on the Green label fronted by Joris Voorn and Edwin Oosterwal. Most tracks feature vocal contributions, with Hemlock Smith, Germain Umdenstock and Van Hai all appearing.
"[The album] is about the part of shade that everyone has," Ripperton explains. "It's about the private garden; it’s quite the opposite of Niwa. It's an inside garden. It can be bright or dark or in the middle. It can destroy or help you." For an idea of what to expect, check out a stream of the Hemlock Smith-featuring "Tape Hiss" over on Ripperton's SoundCloud page.
