Een droomcast. Alleen zo kan deze uitvoering van L’Incoronazione di Poppea uit Madrid omschreven worden. Ga maar na: Danielle de Niese als Poppea, Philippe Jaroussky als Nerone, Max Emanuel Cencic als Ottone en Anna Bonitatibus als Ottavia met als orkest het onvolprezen Les Arts Florissants onder leiding van William Christie. De samenwerking tussen countertenoren Jaroussky en Cencic resulteerde al in een fraai duetalbum, maar op deze dvd trekt Danielle de Niese de meeste aandacht naar zich toe.
